Wordless Wednesday #67

As the two Huletts unload the NSC's Albert C. Meekin, a W&LE 0-8-0 switches the ore dock at Huron, Ohio in a rare 1948 color photo.  Unseen behind the ore boat is the Coal Dock, one of the many final destinations for Wheeling coal.
Hey Jeff, is my posting of this photo a coincidence? I think not...

  1. Great photo indeed Chris ... I wonder what the significance of the star mounted above the boat is? On another topic: I really enjoy you sharing the progress you are making on your layout such as the photos yesterday ... excellent work on what is going to be an excellent layout! Thanks.

    1. Thanks Jim! Good question about the star on the ore boat's mast thing? I did google the ship's name to find out more but came away with nothing. I know there are people out there with a huge interest in the whole steel industry complex including Great Lakes freighters that might know more. Alas, there is only so much I can pack into my brain without giving the important stuff the boot!

  2. Yeah, what a coincidence. I have the ore boat and one of the Huletts. All I need is the 0-8-0. And a layout, lol.
