I love how chunky the SD-9s look with that heavy sill stripe with the later NKP paint style. Unfortunately there was no location info with that photo. Because of the large white tank and fuel trucks in the background I would take a wild guess and say Toledo?
Luckily for me the old Proto 2000 SD-9 in Nickel Plate Road paint are nearly out of the box perfect for the as delivered appearance with no dynamic brakes and other details. All that's needed to add are sunshades, new mars & headlights, rerail frogs and a push pole. Although their arrival in mid 1957 killed steam in the Valley I couldn't help but buy several units over the years.
Upon closer inspection and personal trips to the area, I would agree that this is probably Homestead Yard ... the WLE/NKP facility in suburban Toledo, OH.
Nice photo of a great locomotive Chris ... do you happen to know its location? Thanks!

DeleteNo dynamic brakes on that one. There's a kit bash for you
