    1. I love those SD-9s's too, woe be my wallet if anybody comes out with an accurate RSD-12.
      One day if I acquire enough of those six axles I can alternate between steam and diesel eras.
      I use the idea (excuse) it will save long term wear and tear on my steam engines :)

  2. Good to see you are moving along nicely. Have you any more insight to your reach problem in this area with the mock up? Reach is a constant struggle in my planning.

    1. At my height of 5'9" the through girder bridge at the back of the wye really pushes the limits of my reach. Standing on a step stool removes that issue for me. This area will have a open area to access seen at left for any major issues. Luckily the wye was mainly used as a junction and turning steam engines, not for switching moves to my knowledge. This will be the deepest area on the layout, otherwise 24" is the limit.
